The first UK-US DRACULA Workshop was held at ORNL on 26th-27th September. The Workshop was hosted by JINPA and organized by Steve Pain. DRACULA is a proposed (University of Surrey, UK) new particle detector optimized for fast-beam experiments at FRIB. The topics discussed at the Workshop included identifying the scope of the project, the range science cases, and technical design considerations of the array and associated electronics. A series of short talks and extended round-table discussions made for a lively two-day meeting. Preliminary designs, informed by ORRUBA experiments with fast beams and based on modifications to the GODDESS system, were discussed and simulations were run to evaluate their performance for the range of reactions identified. The workshop was attended by over twenty participants, predominantly from the University of Surrey, the University of Tennessee, Rutgers University and ORNL.
