Chad Ummel has recently been awarded a Department of Energy NNSA Stockpile Stewardship Graduate Fellowship. Chad (who is a Rutgers University graduate student, based in the Physics Division at ORNL) pursues research, utilizing ORRUBA and GODDESS, focused on determining astrophysical nuclear reaction rates – in particular neutron-induced reactions for understanding nucleosynthesis via the s- and r-processes. His Fellowship involves a practicum at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Congratulations, Chad!
